The White Room Clinic client, Lucy, gave our latest body treatment technology a run for its money, here’s what she had to say…

 Hands up who’s tried it all? The juice cleanses the keto diet, intermittent fasting, high-intensity circuit classes 7 times a week, and punishing ab workouts. Yep. I’ve been there, done it and bought the T-shirt. To no avail, I might add.

As I enter my thirties, I must admit that the cleanest diet and strictest workout regime have only got me so far and that to really make a visible difference, I knew I had to add something else into the mix. Enter, TESLA Former: the muscle-building, fat-burning, body-shaping technology that has just landed at The White Room Clinic in West Leederville. TESLA Former triggers Functional Magnetic Stimulation (FMS) to contract muscles in the glutes, abdomen, hamstrings, arms, and pelvic floor. When I heard about TESLA Former, I’ll admit I had hesitations. What if it doesn’t work? Sure, I could argue that. With a European trip on the horizon, I was committed and motivated.

 The initial session involves having a series of before photos taken, a pretty humbling reminder of the winter months we’re just seeing the back of.   1. It’s not that painful

You’ll be nodding off and looking forward to the forced relaxation in no time. I also used my treatment time to catch up on emails and texts or book in for an LED light treatment - glowing skin and a flat stomach. Yes, please.

    After your first few treatments, you may feel some slight muscle soreness, much like you’d feel after an intense ab or glute session at the gym. Magnesium and warm baths help but this isn’t any cause for alarm.

  2. It’s what you do outside the sessions that count
    Probably the most important thing to note with TESLA Former is that it should always complement a clean dietary approach and disciplined training schedule. I’m not saying you can only eat poached chicken and steamed greens whilst hitting the gym 7 times a week, it must be sustainable, but a healthy diet and active lifestyle will mean your results will be visible much sooner. Relying on only one element to deliver results will only bring about frustration, so take it from me when I say that this is a super effective piece of the overall puzzle. Keep your hydration levels up and ensure you’re getting enough protein and good quality sleep to help with muscle repair and growth.

  3. It will change your training (for the better)
    I am a self-confessed Pilates addict. Mat and reformer are my happy place, but despite having practised for years, there are still some exercises I struggle to do. After only 3 sessions of TF, I noticed a massive improvement in my overall abdominal strength and was moving through these exercises with ease.

    As a sufferer of frequent lower back pain due to an old injury, I also started to notice how having a strengthened abdominal wall was protecting my back, meaning I rarely felt pain anymore.
